Safety switch keeps tripping
Repeated tripping is one of the most common calls we get from Sutherland.

Fault Finding
Fault finding means testing circuits to find the actual cause of a problem, rather than replacing parts until it goes away.

01 / Signs You Need This
Faults range from a single dead outlet to repeated tripping across the home.
Repeated tripping is one of the most common calls we get from Sutherland.
A room or group of outlets with no power usually points to a circuit fault.
Any smell of burning near an outlet or the board needs attention straight away.
Flicker can come from connections, fittings or the supply.
02 / What's Included
Fault finding focuses on identifying the actual cause.
Insulation and continuity testing to locate the fault.
Outlets, switches and fittings checked for damage.
What we found and what it will take to fix, in plain terms.
The fault repaired once you approve the work.
03 / How the Job Works
Fault finding follows four steps.
You tell us what is happening or what you want added. We look at the switchboard, the circuits involved and the property before recommending anything.
Once the cause is found, you receive a clear explanation and a quote for the repair.
The faulty component or section of wiring is repaired or replaced.
The work is tested before we leave, and a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) is issued where the work requires one.
04 / Safety & Compliance
In NSW, electrical repairs must be carried out by a licensed electrician and tested to the Australian wiring rules (AS/NZS 3000).
Where the work requires it, we lodge a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW), which records what was done and confirms it has been tested.
05 / Exclusions & Limitations
Some fixes are larger than a repair.
If wiring is failing across the home, rewiring may be recommended.
Faults on the network side are referred to the network or our accredited Level 2 partners.
06 / Local Knowledge
We are based close by in Kirrawee, which makes Sutherland one of our most regular areas.
Common faults here include tripping on wet days, dead power points and lights that flicker in older sections of the home.
